Some doctors have recommended those who are at risk from blood clots and blocked arteries to wear compression stockings on planes because of the changes in pressure. There are many reasons why the compression stockings work so well, including the fact they can prevent swelling around the ankles linked to pain and tiredness when the pressure changes on airplanes.
