Panorama 2.0 released

Panorama – the new release has only very minor changes in function (so certainly no need to rush to update) but does have some additions in terms of language mo files, sv_SE Swedish now being an option…

Sorry, but the free themes are not suitable or designed for WordPress multiuser, without some editing of paths to suit individual installations

  2. victor says:

Isn’t that a multi-user WordPress? It does work for me using subdomains, rather than subfolders

  3. Stephen says:

    Hi Lisa,
Thanks for a great skin. Like lots of people I spent ages looking for a nice clean wordpress skin which suited my needs and your panorama skin is perfect,

    cheers,

    Stephen.

I’m using the panorama theme two of my wesites. and would like to change the background color to tan/brown on one of them. I would also like to rename the “Reply” in threaded comments. Both of these I have been unable to do after exhausted review of the files. I have had much success with editing the theme for both sites but these two changes elude me. I am not an expert in coding. Any help would be appreciated.

    • Lisa says:

Changing the background colour, due to rounded corners would require re-editing the image files – not a simple job.

“Reply” is in comments.php – edit accordingly. It should also be gettexted, so you could use .mo file if translating

  5. Max says:

How do I add depth to the top navigation menu?
I want to show sub pages as well.

    Many thanks,
    Max

Hi Lisa. First, I thank you for a great theme. In theme settings it is possible to change the style color to gray, blue, green, red and purple. I need to change to an atypical unique color, which is our association color: RGB colors are: R 194 G 80 B 30
Can you describe how I can change the color
    Many thanks
    Grete

    Hi Lisa!
Thanks for the great theme! I’m also calling in to join the style change band-wagon. Was hoping to use an image to replace the colour styles, but not sure how to convert it to CSS and then drop it into the style options via the FTP (Firezilla)

    • Barrie says:

If you mean a background image, that’s not possible, unfortunately – just the various color options

Hi. I am trying out this great looking theme. It’s nice and localizable which is important to me.

I do find the use of bloginfo(‘template_directory’); in the header for stylesheet url disallows using it as a template. Changing it to bloginfo(’stylesheet_url’) fixes it.

Also, some of the localizable strings still assume English grammar. Like “No Response to” will be appended with a space and the post title. But in languages like Chinese, there’s no space and the post title is at the beginning of the sentence. As a rule, it’s better to use localizable string as “No Response to %s” so the localizers will have more room to work with.

Again. Thanks for the great theme.

    • Barrie says:

All true – but the Panorama code is ~18months old now and does need some work on it, which we’ll get to as soon as possible… thanks…

  9. Davide says:

    hello there,
I’m using your great theme, I would like to ask you if is possible to use different colour for the background other than the one supplied, maybe with other Style.
    thanks again
    Davide

    • Davide says:

so… after looking at the files in the “Style” folder I kind understand how to change colour with creating a new Style. Did you have a psd file for making the different colur style? is so could you provide it?
      ciao
      Davide

      • Barrie says:

Very sorry, we don’t supply, or indeed, in this case, have a psd file – all themes are provided ‘as is’…

  10. Mike says:

Great theme. Love it. I was just very curious to know if it’s possible to increase the height of the panoramic photos being displayed, and if so how?

I have several dozen nice panoramic shots but none of them look good when cropped to such an extremely wide aspect ratio. Like instead of 980 x 125 I’d like my panoramics to be 980 x 200 (or whatver, but increasing the displayed height).’

Related question: Out of curiosity, why do the instructions say to make panos 980 x 125 minimum but (at least on my system) the panos always seem to be displayed at exactly 960 x 120?

Thanks a ton for the theme and for any help on increasing the pano height displayed.

    • Barrie says:

From memory, heights of #header and #headerimage will control this…

    • Davide says:

Edit the Style.css in wordpress, and like Barrie said the #headerimage will control the height of the “panorama” while #header will control the height of the portion on top of the “panorama” where the blogg title sits.

  11. Dav says:

    Hai…
Thanks for this great theme. I’m trying to use it in one of my website.
Btw, does anyone know how to make the whole header image clickable?
So when I click the header, it will link to an url.
    Is it complicated?

  12. Annelie says:

Gah. Just testing Panorama for the first time, making it all white and minimalist – works really great :)

But I’ve just realised that I somewhere along the road have removed some code for the side bar, making it move down, below the text. This is a widget with text that is meant to be a sidebar on the right of the text… And not under the text…

Has anybody a clue as to where and what I’ve removed/altered? Please… :)

I have a WP site with 2 rows of pages, some having a couple of child pages. When a menu item on the top row containing child pages is selected, some of the child menu items submarine behind the second menu row.

Is there anything I can do to repair this?

  14. Foscolo says:

Not really possible, wrapping a row never works with a DHTML menu – fewer top-level pages, or exclude more…
